Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is hosting a week-long course for early career participants who are interested in learning about the core technical, legal, and policy concepts associated with nuclear arms control. The course will introduce participants of diverse backgrounds to current and future challenges related to nuclear arms control, including treaty implementation, strategic stability, verification technologies, and related topics. This opportunity is made available as part of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Nuclear Verification’s Next Generation Arms Control Experts (Next Gen ACE) initiative.
Event details:
- Who: Early career, have five or fewer years of experience in nuclear monitoring and verification, and identify as a graduate student, a non-governmental organization employee, a member of the U.S. government, or a full-time employee from a national lab, site, or plant. Participants should be security clearance eligible (i.e., U.S. citizens), and be interested in nuclear arms control as a current or future career path.
- What: Five-day course on nuclear arms control, with a combination of lectures, exercises, hands-on technical demonstrations, and tours.
